This is the foremost free genealogical listing of the Shaul family  and their descendants in America. This site covers the descendants of two family groups, "A" being that of John Shaul (Johannes Schall) of Herkimer County New York and "B" being that of Peter Shaul (Peter Challe) of Virginia and Ohio. The information contained in Group "A" is from personal research and family contributions, but primarily from the book "Three Pioneers of Stark: Jacob Bronner, John Fetterly, John Shaul and their descendants" by A. Ross Eckler.  The information contained in Group "B" is from family contributions, but primarily from Virginia Bonne co-author of "The Shaul Family History".  These books contain a great deal more family information than could be included on this web site.

Objections to the display of a photo by anyone in the picture will be considered on face value. This is a family web site and it is not our intension to offend any family member.  If a photo does contain an objectionable face, it will not likely be displayed; however, it is my opinion that "Shaul" means "someone having great face value."
