From his Obituary:  He has been cared for during his illness, but his indomitable perseverance has not given up to helplessness. Friday afternoon, April 10th, he got the mail from the mailbox, ate his supper, took his medicine, walked to his easy-chair in the sitting room and with a tremor, his life ended.

 

From a biography review of Otsego County:  He lived at home until age 21. He owned 142 acres in Otsego, 36 acres in Exeter, 57 acres in Hartwick and 400 acres in Springfield, NY. He was a Republican.
