Comments: My husband is descended from Lucinda Shaul Leaming through his mother (Lucinda, Mary Lucinda Leaming, Alberta "Bertie" Warman, Joan Kaltenbach) A year or so ago I contacted you and you gave me a site to add all the info I have on Mary Lucinda's descendants but I was unable to do this due to a prolonged family illness. Comments: I am interested in Peter and Jacob CHALLE listed on the 6 June 1775 Militia Roster presided over by Johann Justus Henckel (Hinkle.) Captain John Skidmore Company.
I descend through the line of Valentine Coil, deceased 1766 Augusta County, VA (now Pendleton Co., WV) and John Skidmore's sister Rebecca Skidmore (married Gabriel Coil 1761) son of Valentine.
The surname of my ancestors has been written in various different forms Cayle, Kail, Kile, Geil---I am wondering about the CHALLE spelling which could be spoken as Cale or Kail.
Can you tell me more about this Peter and Jacob? Also, is there a DNA project for the Shaul surname? I would like to compare DNA results.
